Catwoman and Batman Together Again?
Seems that there is some talk about having Catwoman as one of the main characters in Batman. They are thinking of resurrecting Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Rachel Dawes character. Uh…did someone forget that she blew up?
Ok, but with the magic of film ALL dead characters can get a second life so let’s wait and see. Frankly, I thought she was a flat actor and frankly, kind of plain and haggard looking. They need to bring a character in that would rip the roof off of the set and be every bit as nasty as the Joker was.
I am excited to hear that they are working on a new Batman and I for one would love to see Michelle Pfeiffer revise her role. She was a great Cat Woman compared to Halle Barrie. I can only imagine Michelle Pfeiffer, along with Robin Williams playing the Riddler, how that duo would capture the screen and turn the next Batman film into another blockbuster!
Maybe this time around, if they bring back Catwoman, we could see a little romance between the Dark Knight and the Feline of the Night! Given enough time, great script and outstanding director, I think this could be done and I am surprised that Hollywood is not on board with this story line. I would bet that every demographic they could think of would be interested to see those Catwoman costumes and Batman costumes including, every kid, women, boy, girl and definitely the adult male!
Here is hoping that someone in Hollywood is listening. It will be interesting to see what the future of the Batman franchise holds for all of the classic villains that have graced the cover of every Batman comic book ever printed…but I still consider the big three to be the Joker, the Riddler, and most importantly to me, Catwoman!
Animal Costumes
There are several different approaches to animal costumes like the Catwoman costume on the home page. One of them is the professional mascot approach. In this approach, your animal costume should look as cartoony as possible. Professional mascots all have a particular look that owes a lot to Disney animation. Many of the costumes are actually made by the same companies, and they all have a very slick appearance that focuses on making an outfit resemble a human form. You can find many such costumes at this link!
Then again, it all depends on what you are wearing an animal costume for. Sometimes, animal ear costumes are the best. A lot of people like to dress up as cats, wolves, or other creatures with pointy ears because it looks attractive. With a little bit of face paint and some pointy ears, you can come up with a cheap animal costume. This is a great approach for Halloween parties – particularly ones held in college. It will give people the message that you are fun and flirty and open to talk to strangers. More importantly for many, it is less expensive than an animal mascot costume.
There is also the approach favored by kids animal costumes. In these, cuteness comes above all else. I remember my twin daughters wearing cat costumes one Halloween. They were only 3 at the time. We got a ton of comments from people as they all stopped and remarked how adorable they were! The costumes can also be cartoony like animal mascot costumes, but with an important difference. The emphasis is on the eyes and adorable expressions. They can be soulful, pouty, sunshiny – any basic emotion. Although these costumes used to be used exclusively by children, nowadays they’re more popular with adults than ever. As a matter of fact, at the Halloween party I went to last year, this was the most popular animal costume design.
Finally, there are the animal costumes that strive for realism. Anyone can be a cute cartoony animal, but if you can come up with a realistic animal costume design, people will be really impressed with your look. It is an especially good effect if you’re trying to be scary. Dressing up as a wolf, mountain cat, or some other dangerous and vicious animal makes a big impression in Halloween parties. Some of the best costumes I saw last year were costumes that looked realistic in so many ways….some scared the daylights out of my kids. I remember a werewolf costume that the guy even had contacts to make his eyes a gold-yellow color. I was told that his costume even won an award for the best costume of the night at a party he attended…he was very creative with it. If I can find a picture of it, I’ll post it here.
Then again, you can always feel free to combine the different kinds of animal costumes until you find the right balance for yourself. The important thing is to create a fun costume design that you enjoy wearing and that looks good on you. Uniqueness counts a lot, so sometimes you can score more points by coming up with something totally original than with coming up with something that is traditionally “good.” Check diffferent websites and videos out online to get some ideas of how they make theirs and combine their creativity with your ideas. Halloween is all about stepping outside of your comfort zone and being someone else that inspires you…feel free to experiment! Use clothing and crafts that you find around the house to enhance your Halloween costumes.
And saying all that I have said above have you seen this new fad? It’s a fad that’s been going around for a while now and its one that’s definitely going to be around as long as people have cats as pets. That’s the habit of putting cats into clothes. It’s not a new thing for sure, but it is one that’s been growing and growing over time, and that makes those sweet creatures always look grumpy to me. So why do people make cat clothes?
Like with dogs, it seems to be a reflection of the owner themselves that forces them into habitually putting their feline friends into cat clothes. Halloween or special occasions is OK but these can take the shape of something as simple as a head band or a hat, to the other extreme of full body costumes that imply that the wearer (the cat) wants to look in some way shape or form like the person their owners’ want them to look like. Its most definitely true that, judging by the picture of every cat ever seen wearing clothes or a Halloween cat costume, they have absolutely no interest themselves in looking like an angel, or a devil or whatever, so it’s a wonder that anyone goes to the bother of doing this – but nowadays it’s a business worth millions of dollars a year.
It may be said that some people do this out of a sense of loneliness, but it may be slightly backwards as there’s no doubt that a disgruntled and annoyed furry feline in cat clothes right now, is going to stay that way for some time after the removal of the offending costume. Take this in consideration… a cat can shred your clothing and fingers using 5 points of its body! It is not the type of animal that you want annoyed with you when you’re trying to remove a jersey from it, or un-velcro a jacket that necessitates that you come in contact with said shredding instruments. Just be careful when deciding what to put on your cat or any animal for that matter!
Black Cat Costume
There are many a black cat costume that has turned heads at a party but I also love the toddler cat costume I saw on my nephew when he was two. Here are some examples of what we offer:
Throughout history the black cat has meant different things to different cultures. In western cultures, the black cat has always symbolized bad luck. “Don’t let that black cat cross your path or you will have bad luck!”, my Grandmother would always shout out to me as we were walking on her farm. Grandpa use to laugh and tease my Grandmother about her superstitions. In other countries, the black cat meant good luck (go figure!
You got to wonder sometime where these superstitions originated. Doing some research to why people believed they were bad luck, I found that many people felt that they were the embodiment of bad omens and even been considered as “familiars” of witches.
When I see or think of black cats I immediately remember the song “Black Cat” sung by Janet Jackson. Here is a short video regarding her thoughts about the Black Cat song (I have included the transcript below the video and also included the second video of her performing the song):
Janet Jackson: We wanted to do something rock but something funky but no one had come up with anything and this was the last song we had recorded in the studio. I was watching CNN and I just started humming this guitar riff. I ran and grabbed my recorder and I ran to the studio and shouted “Guys…I got this!” There were a lot of rock videos I had seen and I really liked….not knowing who the director was. Well, I was out on the road and they started to send me tapes and there was a tape that they gave me and said that they thought that I would really like this guy. I said that these are the videos I really like and I have seen and it just so happened that Wayne had done most of the videos.
Meanwhile back at Wayne’s camp:
Wayne Isham (Director): …I go, this is a rocker…this is not just the dance oriented thing that she is known for and I said that I really liked the song then I found out she wrote it and she wrote all of it. If you listen to the song, it’s got this great guitar lick and I said, ‘She didn’t write that!?’ and they said, ‘…yes she did’. Then I said ‘…alright I am there’. The first time I saw her she had only performed live three times and I had seen everyone perform the best and I thought, “She’s happening!”.
Janet: A lot of people say it’s there favorite song off of the album and every city that we have gone to the response has been incredible and it hasn’t been a single yet so it has been great…they seem to really enjoy the song.
So if you are looking for a black cat costume or a Cat Woman Costume this Halloween, look no further!
Cat Halloween Costumes
Every little boy and girl that I know that has worn cat Halloween costumes and / or makeup has been the cutest kids at any Halloween party. Here are some examples of the costumes that we offer….
We have a variety of choices for our cat costumes as we offer choices for every budget in all styles and sizes. From cat children costumes to our sexy cat costumes, catwoman costumes, cat suits, or Cat In The Hat, we have the selections you are looking for. We even have all new cat costumes for 2009! Cat costumes have always been great for special Halloween trick-or-treating, special Halloween parties and special events. When you look at the inventory of cat costumes, you will find some of the most popular are the ones that are tied into Dr Seuss books. These are extremely popular.
As you probably are aware, and if you are like me, I see dozens of black cat outfits running around our neighborhood year after year. The cutest ones are when they are teamed with a dog costume or 2 girls or 2 boys are dressed like Simanese cats! I was amazed at how many different colors of cat costumes there are. As I said, I was always seeing the black cat outfits but now I am amazed at the different colors and configurations they have.
Sexy cat costumes have been all the rage since Halle Berry wore her Catwoman suit
Many a husband asked their wives to buy the suit that Halloween I am sure. The male cats that I know sure turn their heads when they see a catwoman or cat suit walk into the Halloween parties I have attended. The nice thing about cat costumes is that you don’t have to break the bank to put one together with things that you may have in your closet. Along with some of the accessories found here, you can make a great costume to be proud to wear at any party whether for you kids or yourself.
I remember once that PBS was running a special on the play “Cats” and broadcast the play in its entirety. That night my husband had turned on the TV before going to bed and the Frasier character Niles was describing how his wife’s drama club was putting on their version of Cats. I never heard my husband laugh so hard! It was a great description as only the Niles character could tell it. I think of that often when I think of people wearing cat Halloween costumes.

This is a DoFollow Blog with Comment Luv, Top Commentator, and Keyword Luv Plug-ins
Are you looking for regular “follow links” to your site? GOOD and WELCOME!
This site runs Top Commentator, KeyWord Luv, and Comment Luv (just a big blog LUV FEST!) I think that the people who invented these little plug-ins are extremely talented and I want to thank them for inventing these little guys. I know some of you who are new to all things internet are wondering why I am going on about these 3 plug-ins so much. Well let me tell you…they are a win-win for you and me….you can never go wrong in this life with some help from someone and in turn helping others! Paying it forward comes to mind. Let me give you a little brief instruction (and ending note) on how these plug-ins work and what I expect when you comment on my blog.
First let me address Comment Luv…. When you plug Comment Luv into your blog, you will get a little blurb that reads something like this, “Plugin to show a link to the last post from the commenters blog by parsing the feed at their given URL when they leave a comment. Rewards your readers and encourage more comments.” Tah-dah! Click Here for an additional explanation. BTW, this is already loaded into WordPress so all you do when you create a blog is to search in the plug-ins for it.
Here is what Top Commentator has to say…. “Adds a sidebar widget to show the top commentators in your WP site…. .” Click Here to visit the site! Also, this is already loaded into WordPress so, as with Comment Luv, all you do when you create a blog is to search the plug-ins for it.
And last but not least, you know I had to say it
, I have included the KeyWord Luv plug-in on my site. You will have to download this plugin! It is easy to do and you can find it where I found it by Clicking Here . Here is the little blurb that came with it that helps explain why it is so beneficial to all, “Reward your commentators by separating their name from their keywords, in the link to their website, giving them improved anchor text. For example, leaving ‘Karen @ Female Pirate Costumes’ in the name field, will result in the following: Karen from Female Pirate Costumes . One more thing, you will need to have enabled a DoFollow plug-in (found in WordPress) in order for KeyWord Luv to work.
Now for my last note that is VERY important….I will have to delete any comments that I deem inappropriate or that are of low quality (example…nice site! -The End-, or, Wow…-The End-)
If you stay on topic and simply add to the original post, your comments should be approved.
I hope this post has been helpful and informative and as always, if you have any questions, contact me at admin@femalepiratecostumes.net !
